It is, and must remain, at the center of our quest for development. It is with this vision that the Société Mathematical Society of Côte d'Ivoire (SMCI) continues to promote the role of mathematics in education and development in our country and, more broadly, across the African continent.
Professor Saliou TOURÉ, the first Ph.D. in Mathematics of Côte d'Ivoire, is a distinguished scholar, educator, and national leader.
A tenured professor at the University of Abidjan since 1976, he has also served as Minister of National Education, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Technological Innovation.
Currently serving as President of the International University of Grand-Bassam (IUGB), Côte d'Ivoire, Professor TOURÉ has taught at leading universities across Africa, Europe, Brazil, Russia and the United States.
His research focuses on Harmonic Analysis on Lie Groups and Symmetric Riemannian Spaces, and his scientific achievements have earned him membership in prestigious mathematical societies and international academies worldwide.
